Gynecologic Oncology
The Division of Gynecologic Oncology offers an innovative approach to treating cancer of the uterus, ovaries and endometrium that integrates radiation and chemotherapy with pelvic surgery to provide total care for gynecologic oncology patients. Minimally invasive surgical techniques are used whenever possible. Surgeons can remove pelvic tumors using extracorporeal circulation, a procedure developed by a West Penn Allegheny Health System surgeon that eliminates the need for blood transfusions.
